Much agreed, much agreed. I think, too, as a book that not only spans one traditionally thought of as poor writing genre ( YA ) but also a second ( fantasy ), Cashore has done quite well by herself. ( this is not to say either is worse written than any other genre, but I think both are looked down upon from more traditional views on books and their genres ).

I am hoping, too, that Cashore will be someone I can read along with Tamora Pierce. The tendency towards the dystopian and supernatural has been an interesting one, but I am an endless sucker for swords and kings.
